Other Achievements

I hold a 2nd Dan blackbelt in karate from the Karate-do Shotokai organisation and I was a member of the UK committee.

​I have twice played as a member of the GB Women's National Paintball team at the European Women's Cup in Germany (2012/13). I also played nationally and internationally for two non-national teams, Celtic Druids and Celtic Banshees.

Hobbies

I enjoy a wide range of ways to physically challenge myself. Currently this consists of mountain hiking, swimming, cycling (and bike packing), climbing, weightlifting, snorkeling, paddleboarding, scuba diving and Haarii (Okinawan boat race). Back in the UK I regularly went horse riding and trained in karate. 

​​When i'm not being active I enjoy reading, playing video and board games, jigsaw puzzles and learning Japanese.

​Most recently I have begun teaching myself photography, and I am an admin of the OIST photographic society, organising workshops and exhibitions. You can view some of my photos here and here.
